"The object of the Society shall be to locate, preserve, examine, publish and illustrate the antiquities, records and traditions connected with the territory comprised within the ancient Kingdom of Meath, corresponding in the main with the modern Diocese of Meath."

Meath Field Names -
Project to record and publish the 'Field Names' of County Meath along with their history,
features, name origin and folklore. The project is strongly backed by Meath IFA, Meath Archaeological
& Historical Society and Meath County Council Library Services.

Navan & District Historical Society (N&DHS) -
Founded in 2007 their main aim is to foster an interest in the local history of Navan area.
They hold meetings and excursions throughout the year, keeping them as informative and informal
as they can, and urging members to participate and enjoy themselves.

Breifne Historical Society -
Cumann Seanchais Bhreifne promotes the study
of the local history of the ancient kingdom of Breifne. The territory of Breifne was,
in medieval times, ruled over by the O'Rourke and the O'Reilly chieftains and it
corresponds to most of the present day counties of Cavan, Leitrim and south Fermanagh,
as well as to the ecclesiastical diocese of Kilmore.

Meath Heritage Centre -
The Meath Heritage Centre provides a professional family history service to people who
wish to trace their Meath ancestors. All the major sources are now available at the centre.
The parish registers of baptisms and marriages for the county have been indexed as have
land records, census material and other sources.

Duleek Heritage -
Duleek takes its name from daimh liag, meaning house of stones and referring to an early stone-built church,
St. Cianan's Church, the ruins of which are still visible in Duleek today. The Duleek Heritage Trail
has been conceived as a series of stepping stones through the village and its long and varied history.

Millmount Museum Drogheda -
The Museum and Martello Tower are located on the great fort that towers over the town of Drogheda,
on an ancient hill overlooking the historic river Boyne. It is the gateway to the Boyne Valley,
an area rich in heritage dating back over 9,000 years, while the town itself is over 800 years old.

The Francis Ledwidge Museum Slane -
The museum is the cottage birthplace of World War I poet, Francis Ledwidge. It is a perfect
example of a 19th century farm labourer's cottage and was purchased and restored by the Francis
Ledwidge Museum Committee in 1981. It houses the poet's works and artefacts from World War I,
alongside memorabilia of the period. Its millennium exhibition portrays the poet's life in
picture and text from his birth in the cottage to his death at the third battle of Ypres, Belgium, in July 1917.

The object of the Society is to locate, preserve, examine, record, publish and illustrate the antiquities, records and traditions,
oral and written, connected with the Town and District of Kells.

Rathfeigh Historical Society -
covering county Meath towns of Skyrne, Rathfeigh and Tara, was founded to preserve
and record the history of the county of Meath. Since the society's foundation in
1987 we have researched, preserved and recorded the local heritage.

Louth Archaeological & Historical Society -
Founded in 1903, the Society celebrated its centenary in 2003. It has a membership of 710, drawn
from many diverse walks of life and locations. The object of the Society is to protect and foster
knowledge of the archaeological and historical heritage of County Louth.

Balbriggan & District Historical Society -
The goal of the society is to promote an interest in the local history of Balbriggan and District
through lectures, publications and exhibitions. And to establish a Museum in the Balbriggan District.

Collon Historical Society Founded in 2000, the Collon Historical Society provides a forum for all those interested in the local history in the Collon area.
